Three More FUN Model Railroad Layouts at the Color Country Model Railroad Club Open House 2023
Back to the Color Country Model Railroad Club open house to check out three fun layouts in HO, N, and G scales.
First up is the HO layout of Joe Adair. The track is in and Joe and his wife are building structures and scenery. (which we all agree is the funest part)
Then off to the Ncscale railroad of Eldon Chounard. Built in the garage, the layout is on wheels and can be moved out of the way when not in use. The layout is about 80% finished.
Then to the G scale indoor layout of Paul Botino. While many G scale railroads are garden railroads (that’s whet the G stands for) Paul’s is in an artist studio that was part of the home when they bought it!

This is Gametrain’s Union Switch & Signal (US&S) Model 15-A “teardrop” mechanical railroad crossing bell. This bell is is rather bad shape but sounds nice nonetheless.
History: This bell was on eBay and was $486. It came from Goshen, IN which isn’t too far from Gametrain. He got it and is now one of his most prized possessions. This is believed to be a 2nd generation teardrop bell.

This is a short video of the clubs S-Scale (or American Flyer) layout. The layout hosts two mainlines and can run two trains simultaneously. There are buildings in support of the railroad in addition to an industrial shed to load and transfer cargo.
The club is located in the Texas City Museum, Texas City, TX. Trains run on Saturdays 11 AM – 4 PM, excluding holidays.
