By attaching a GoPro to a large scale model train, you get a very interesting perspective… as if you were seeing things from onboard the train. It’s a fun way to see model railroading in a whole new way!
In this new model train video, I use multiple GoPros to catch the action from several different angles. We start by looking at the view from a White Pass & Yukon Route passenger train. At about the 1: 30 mark in the video, we switch to the view from a BNSF freight train. Then at about the 4: 00 mark we watch from atop the Coca Cola Christmas steam train. Finally, at about the 6: 00 minute mark, we go back to the WP&YR train for another, longer ride. Also making brief appearances in the video is the Santa Fe Super Chief, plus Emily and James from Thomas & Friends.
The model trains shown in this video are from LGB, Bachmann, and MTH Trains. These are G-scale trains, and the total value of all the model train equipment shown in this video is probably close to $15,000. The track alone costs $7 per foot, and it takes a lot of track to cover this big backyard on a 1/2 acre lot.
