We made our way over to the Sebring Model Railroad Open house last weekend and they definitely have put a lot of work into their layout. Towns, railyards, logging camps, mountains and bridges are just some of the things you will see in addition to the trains on their HO scale model railroad layout. The layout has over 3000 feet of track all of which was hand laid one tie at a time by the members, now that’s a lot of work! The club was founded in 1948 and started out in a garage in Salem Ohio a few towns over from where they reside today. The club eventually moved to its current location in the 1970s when they were able to purchase the station that now serves as their home. One of the main hurdles they had to overcome was moving the station as the railroad wouldn’t sell the land along with the station and they ended up buying land from the city on the opposite side of the tracks to move it to. The club definitely has a long and interesting history for sure. We hope everyone enjoys the video and please like and subscribe to our channel so you can stay up to date on our latest uploads. The club typically holds their open houses in mid November each year. The last weekend for the open house this year is 11/17/18 and 11/18/18 from 10: 00am to 5: 00pm both days. The club is located at 216 E Pennsylvania Ave Sebring, Ohio. They are hard to miss, just look for the railroad station next to the tracks.
