In this video, Gabe is unboxing is Marklin Texas & Pacific HO scale trains.
The bold blue and yellow of the Texas & Pacific F-type model locomotive was the first choice for a special birthday this week. Admiring the images for months, Gabe couldn’t wait to get them on the tracks and take them for a run as soon as they were unboxed.
Having once cut a line across the largest state, the T&P’s F type locomotive was one of the most successful freight trains. Introduced by General Motors Electro Motive Division (EMD) in 1939. the F7 was released in 1949. Boasting a 1500 horse power engine this locomotive could haul both freight and passengers from El Paso to New Orleans. Though the colors were different to reflect the railway, you may have recognized the engine that hauled the Santa Fe Railway’s Super Chief ( the “train of the stars” being an all-Pullman that ran from Chicago to LA) and El Capitan.
Happy Birthday Gabe!!!
