Layout Update
Plenty going on on the YDMR this month.
Firstly, I tried out one of the excellent Rocky Rail laser cut kits. The company mainly produces kits for continental modellers, but are beginning to expand into the British market. I made their loading platform, trimming it down slightly to fit the small goods yard at Ponden. After giving the platform an undercoat and dry brushing of grey, I added the yard crane and railings, as well as some barrels and pallets. I still need to add a few weeds to finish this off.
Secondly, I created some notice and advertising boards from another Rocky Rail kit. I printed the posters/adverts onto regular paper, cut them out and stuck them on with PVA.
Thirdly, I made some more wagon loads from Rocky Rail’s cable drum kits.
I’ve also got round to weathering the track at Ponden, for this I airbrushed Tamiya black and grey.
