As I have mentioned before, my 8×9 foot N-scale model train set took at least 5 years to get it to the stage you see it (unfortunately, I have a habit of going overboard on everything I do – so I never finished it). However, after sitting for probably 10 years collecting dust, damage from moving it too many times, and a bad access design (which is what made it fun when it worked), the time has come to let it go. My brother actually dropped by to get supplies for his train set, and was shocked that I was tearing it apart. The process is tedious as I am trying to salvage as much as possible for a rebuild in the girls’ playhouse. Removing tiny nails, scraping up cork, and dismantling the support structure. But, I did it without throwing up – I didn’t even shed a tear.
The second table with the canyon will be harder to let go, but I’ll do my best. Stay tuned as the Lego city rises from the trains ashes (and don’t forget to subscribe, so you don’t miss anything).
