To help raise funds for the Lymington Community Centre, this exhibition was held over the weekend of 8th/9th April. More layouts were on display than last year and covered N, 00, 009, SM32, 16.5mm, H0 and L gauges/scales. Many of the layouts I have seen before so it was interesting to see any changes that had been made. Thanks to the exhibitors who were more than willing to chat.
Layouts featured in Part 1 are:
Kimbolton Castle – 00 gauge – John Linnell. Fictitious terminus station on the South Coast near the Solent in the 1950s/1960s.
Ryan’s Mill – SM32 scale – Alan Eadle. Private narrow gauge railway serving a wood yard and sand quarry.
Lego World – L gauge – Alex Whitcher.
Tavas yn Bogh – 00 & 009 gauges. Based somewhere in Cornwall and featuring a dual gauge crossover and running line.
Taylor Town – 00 gauge – Colin Cleall. Freelance modern image terminus station and service sidings.
Farphramdunne – 00 & 009 gauges – Mervyn Bursden, New Forest MRC. The 00 gauge line serves a small industrial area, whilst the narrow gauge line links the town with the rest of the rail network.
Blackgang – 009 gauge – Peter Molyneaux. The layout is based on a Peco Setrack design and features a single platform station and small goods yard.
Underpass – 16.5mm scale – Robert Strachan. A small, cramped forgotten yard under a large highway overpass.
