Midhurst model railway layouts first exhibition with its new owner (Adrian Harrison of with the support of The Double O Gauge Association ( .
Modelled in 4mm scale / OO gauge to finescale standards Midhurst was a station on the railway line which ran from Pulborough to Chichester (both in West Sussex) and was also the junction station with the line from Petersfield (Hampshire). Unfortunately the real station & its railways are no longer in existence after being closed to passenger traffic in 1955 & freight workings in 1964.
The layout is currently being run with stock representing the British Railways, Southern Region era of the lines history and over time the locomotive fleet and rolling stock will be added to / replaced by models of that more commonly seen on the routes through Midhurst during this period so that it is more prototypical, just with a busier schedule. Modellers license will always still allow for the odd surprise making an appearance though.
In the future more YouTube videos will be uploaded as we get more to grips with the layouts controls, to allow a lot more shunting in the goods yards, and also hopefully at some point get the layouts previous owners and its original builders all together.
Midhurst is due to attend the 2020 Tonbridge Model Railway Exhibition and information for this show is near the end of the video.
