Part 1: Building the basic Structure.
This is the first part of my video series, where I’ll work on a new model train layout. This time it’s different though..
I decided it had to be a small layout that would be able to fit under a bed. So the dimensions are fixed to L: 180, W: 100, H: 18 centimeters.
I also decided to go for an American theme instead of my usual European with mostly German, Swiss, Austrian and Danish rolling stock..
The biggest difference is that It won’t be based on Märklin C track.. American rolling stock is way to rare and expensive in Märklin. So instead of an AC layout it’ll be a DC layout with PIKO A track.
The two main objectives for my project are: Low costs & low weight!
The budget is around 300 Euro and will cover the expensive for materials, scenery and rolling stock – at least to begin with.. 🙂
