Its been a while since I have done a model train tutorial so I think its time that I changed that and I have shown here how I lubricate my Lima OO gauge model trains using an oil pen that is from Gaugemaster. You can use sewing machine oil as an alternative but I use a plastic friendly oil for my model trains as I do not wish to risk damaging the newer models where the plastic is not as robust.
The model trains that I used in this video are the OO gauge Lima Class 60 and the Class 92 models as both of these have the ringfield motors and this tutorial can apply to most model trains from Lima and the older Hornby models that have the ringfield motor fitted. I will cover other model trains in future videos with different setup’s as then not only will be more videos for my channel but it will make it easier for those that are new to model trains to find the right tutorial for their needs. I hope that this model train maintenance and servicing guide will be helpful and I will be going more of these later on and I will be doing another one in August.
