I was told that this O-27 guage train was from 1936 or 1937. The engine is number 1666.
The tree is a real balsam fir. All the glass balls are from World War II at the time when they were not allowed to use silvering inside of them (and you can see right through them). There are some with paper caps, since metal was needed for production of war materials. The hard tin light reflectors are from the 1930s and the cast iron stand is from around 1928. The lights in the stand are not original. The glistening stuff on the train platform is mica. The tree has old lead tinsel.
