The New York Central and Pennsylvania railroads were always in direct competition with each other, which led to innovative steam engine design and swift passenger and freight service to all points in the northeast corridor. In Virginia, the N&W railroad produced some of the best designed steam locomotives which allowed the railroad to operate them long into the diesel era. Here’s a video which gives insights into how these engines looked and operated, using our O-gauge model trains produced by Lionel, MTH, K-Line and 3d Rail. Give this video a ‘Like’ and post your comment below as to YOUR favorite train as seen in operation on our home-based layout.
