This week we are focused on standardized model railroad track gauges, from the earliest attempts by the Society of Model Railroad Engineers in 1896 to a quick look at more modern standards.
Model track gauges were originally quite large. 0 gauge was the smallest at 1.25″. The largest was 12″ This was in 1896 but soon technology allowed for much smaller gauges. Moreover the scale standards were changing but that’s a future story!
