Here’s a fun and easy way to make a realistic looking engine shed for your model railway layout… even if you have never tackled making your own models in the past. Materials required: glue, cardboard, metal ruler, cutting board, craft knife etc. The engine shed in this video is constructed to OO gauge size, but you can construct these models to HO scale, N, or S scale. The plans are PDF files which are quick to download and print. Some people use corflute instead of card, and balsa wood is a very handy material for making posts and chimneys etc. I personally prefer using Mod Podge for gluing and sealing larger parts, and I use Super Glue for sticking smaller (or fiddly parts together.
Have fun!
