Really cool old M 60 A 3 Tank and a Norfolk Southern WB empty coal train
with 9 Conrail high sided gons in the consist. Location is at the VFW
in Waynesburg Pa. on East Lincoln Street at the intersection where
it meets Porter Street. The NS Mon Line here was originally built
by the Monongahela Railroad as an extension from Mather into
Waynesburg.
Here is a link to Army Technology web site where you can find out a lot
more about this tank where they say it is one of the world’s most successful
main battle tanks ever produced. I cannot imagine 4 guys in that tank,
the intense heat they must have had to endure. A great big salute to all
our veterans and active duty service men for the sacrifices you have and
are giving to our country.
