I recently weathered my Bachmann LNER V2 2-6-2.
Firstly, I chopped off the moulded smokebox dart and replaced this with a brass version. Following this:
1 – Overall spray of Tamiya black and grey (50/50 mix)
2 – Spray of Tamiya Brown (cylinders, tender streaks, axle boxes etc)
3 – Railmatch Rust (inside of tender, cylinder fronts)
4 – Black weathering powder for the smokebox and cab roof
5 – Rust/brown weathering powder for the cylinder fronts (better to overdo this as the varnish removes a lot of the powder)
6 – White weathering powder to highlight details.
7 – Matt black paint used to simulate buffer grease
8 – Spray of Halford’s Matt Laquer with wheels covered
9 – Real coal added to tender and Bachmann figures added to cab
As always, thanks for watching.
