Gitt Ridiculously easy to assemble, this adorable baby train set delighted my coworkers and brought out their inner 8-year-olds as we all continued to pretend that our jobs were in any way important as we entered year 3 of the two-week pandemic. Next December I may add teeny models of our building and the surrounding area. Hyperfixating as a trauma response? Heck yeah, works every time!

For the price, it’s alright. Don’t expect amazing quality, but it does work. A couple of criticisms: – The main train where the battery goes is too simplistic in my opinion, especially the on/off switch which is just moving a piece of metal. Maybe they were trying to mimic old toys with even the electrical components, but it feels like it could easily break off. – The tracks connect by overlapping the ends but they feel too loose once attached, which can cause the whole track to shift while the Train is going.

My grandson (8) loves trains. He has 5 at his house and three at my house. I bought this for the coffee table. Don’t expect an expensive-looking train, but it’s perfect for a small place.

There’s only a few things that need a little bit changed. The speed to be able to adjust, otherwise the engine has difficulty pulling the cars without jumping the track. Also, possibly an easier way to turn the engine off. The small lightweight metal tab is located directly at the bottom right. The tab looks like it may break off after sliding it front & back after a while of use. The car’s hook up looks a bit loose too. All in all, it’s a cute little train, especially with its little red caboose 😊 It’s difficult to find small trains with a red old school caboose. Here’s more of the “little engine that finally could ” Yaaaaaaay! Had to let the battery run a bit to slow the engine down and not jump the track, then attached the cars very carefully.

Cons
Assembly Difficulties with Speed and Engine Control
Some users have found that the speed of the Westminster Train in A Tin is not adjustable, causing the engine to struggle to pull the cars without jumping the track. This limitation can be frustrating for those looking for more control over the train’s speed. Additionally, some users have expressed concerns about the location and fragility of the small lightweight metal tab used to turn the engine off. They worry that repeated sliding of the tab may cause it to break over time.
Loose Car Hook-up
One minor drawback noted by a few users is that the car’s hook-up appears to be a bit loose. While this doesn’t affect the train’s functionality, it can be a slight disappointment for those seeking a sturdier connection between the cars.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Westminster Train in A Tin still garners praise for its overall charm and appeal. Its adorable design and compact size make it a perfect addition to a small Christmas display or as a decorative piece for a coffee table. Furthermore, its inclusion of a red caboose—a feature that is becoming increasingly rare—adds to its nostalgic appeal.
if you’re looking for a delightful and compact train set to bring joy to your space or satisfy a train-loving child, the Westminster Train in A Tin could be a perfect choice.
